What kind of sugar is Lycium barbarum polysaccharide?
Before understanding this problem, let's first understand what sugar is.
There are three types of sugar.
Monosaccharides: glucose, fructose, etc., which are common in ripe fruits and honey.
Disaccharides: sucrose, maltose, etc., white sugar, brown sugar, and granulated sugar are counted.
Polysaccharides: starch-based, mostly found in plant roots and seeds, such as potatoes and cereals
These sugars are simple sugars, which are digested and absorbed quickly after eating, which can easily cause blood sugar fluctuations.
Lycium barbarum polysaccharide is the core active ingredient in Lycium barbarum, which belongs to a kind of plant polysaccharide with complex structure, which is different from simple sugars.
Therefore, I am worried about the high sugar content of lycium barbarum puree. It is recommended to choose medicinal lycium barbarum (lower sugar content) as much as possible, and avoid long-term consumption of lycium barbarum (sugar content will be higher)
